His smile and optimism gone shia lebouf11/9/2023 ![]() They trade rather cruel (albeit PG) personal barbs that honestly sound like innuendo or shoot comments: "You have a perfect life" "You don't know what's going on in my life." "So you have a little boyfriend-trouble, boo hoo, Life goes on." "If you were smart, you'd shut your mouth?" "Well, what if wasn't smart?". Like the beach argument they have in the movie. Even if they hadn't aged out as actors by then, they'd have had to stop working on it, because in spite of both their talents, they weren't coming across like siblings anymore by the ending months. ^^Christy & Shia had UST on the final season and finale movie of EVEN STEVENS, too. It's just weird and conspicuous, for them to be as a close as they were and have the chemistry they did, to suddenly being cold and distant and almost protection-ordery (*pre* MeToo, and not just on her side).hmmm. In their final year working together on EVEN STEVENS, they'd have been aged 18 (Christy) and 16 (Shia)-confusing histrionic times for all teens, and that's not even getting into fucked-up family backgrounds and financial hardship (his) or crippling perfectionist pressures of the business and misogynistic programming (hers). Reading between the lines of both their stories about why their connection soured or faded, it really sounds like they crossed some sort of threshold in terms of their personal dynamic while they were wrapping their show, and right after that things turned awkward or someone caught/revealed inconvenient feelings or desires (my money is on Shia CCR pings to me even though she married a man). I kinda wish Christy Carlson Romano (also from Even Stevens) had a better career, definitely had a lot of talent and she's a theatre kid.Ĭhristy might be the only woman Shia hasn't totally turned off and scared away, but sadly and ironically she seems to be the one he wants little to do with now. ![]() One of the defining ones along with Hilary Duff and Raven Symoné. Millennial DLers first knew Shia as a Disney Channel star. We'll never get an Even Stevens reunion then. Just how much is Alice willing to lose to expose what's really going on in this paradise? by Anonymous But when cracks in her idyllic life begin to appear, exposing flashes of something much more sinister lurking beneath the attractive façade, Alice can't help questioning exactly what they're doing in Victory, and why. All they ask in return is discretion and unquestioning commitment to the Victory cause. Life is perfect, with every resident's needs met by the company. ![]() While the husbands spend every day inside the Victory Project Headquarters, working on the "development of progressive materials," their wives-including Frank's elegant partner, Shelley-get to spend their time enjoying the beauty, luxury and debauchery of their community. The 1950's societal optimism espoused by their CEO, Frank-equal parts corporate visionary and motivational life coach-anchors every aspect of daily life in the tight-knit desert utopia. Alice and Jack are lucky to be living in the idealized community of Victory, the experimental company town housing the men who work for the top-secret Victory Project and their families.
